Your guide to the 2024 Wisconsin State Water Ski Show Championships at Lake Wazeecha
GRAND RAPIDS – The Wisconsin State Water Ski Show Championships will return to Lake Wazeecha’s Red Sands Beach for its 58th year. The championships will run July 18-21 at Lake Wazeecha in Grand Rapids, just outside of Wisconsin Rapids. Here’s what you should know as you make your weekend plans to see the shows.
Rafters sweep Green Bay at home, win 10-6
Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. – The Rafters got their first sweep of the season Saturday night against Green Bay, defeating the Rockers 10-6 at Witter Field. The Rockers struck first against Rafters’ starter Maddox Thornton with two home runs in the second inning. But that was the only runs that they would score until the seventh.
Stevens Point completes season sweep of Antigo in Legion baseball
The Antigo American Legion baseball team fell at Stevens Point on Tuesday by a 10-1 final score, as the Sixers completed a season sweep of the Typhoon. Antigo was limited to four base hits on the night, including a double from Ben Robrecht and singles from Trevor Tarras, Grant Praslowicz and Hunter Aiuppy.

Wausau, WI – The Woodchucks split the series with Green Bay and won their first game at home in eight days. They beat the Rockers Monday night, 12-4. Adiel Melendez (Montavello) made his first appearance since his All-Star nomination. Melendez went a full 3 innings pitched, striking out 3 and allowing just 2 runs. STEVENS POINT, Wis. – University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point director of athletics Brad Duckworth has named Jordan Elliott as the head men's and women's golf coach. "We are thrilled to welcome Jordan to the UWSP Athletics family," said Duckworth. Rafters Fall Behind Early, Drop Road Contest in Wausau
WAUSAU, Wis. – The Rafters were unable to recover Sunday afternoon in Wausau after the Woodchucks put up a six spot in the home half of the first inning. Following a strong start in the first, Wausau added two runs per frame throughout the rest of the ballgame. The 20 runs for the Woodchucks were the most scored by the team in a game this season.
