NCW Libraries offers virtual Garden Doodling Workshop with Artist Rosemary Jones
WENATCHEE — NCW Libraries is offering a virtual workshop on garden doodling as part of its summer library program on August 14 from 3:00-4:30 pm. Artist Rosemary Jones will lead the online class, held over Zoom. Participants of all ages and skill levels can learn how to create thin block letters and fill the empty space with whimsical garden-themed illustrations. The only supplies needed are paper, a pencil, and a hard surface to draw on.
Movers and shakers from Edmonds’ past take center stage in annual Walk Back in Time
Each year on the third Thursday in July, the Edmonds Memorial Cemetery “comes alive” as members of the cemetery board – frequently in period costume – profile significant men and women from Edmonds’ past who are buried there. The re-enactments highlight their accomplishments, contributions and roles in the history of Edmonds. Past events have focused on teachers, politicians, business owners, veterans of the Civil and Spanish-American wars, and more.
Bastille Day petanque tourney largest ever for Edmonds club
Edmonds Mayor Mike Rosen helped open the 10th Annual Bastille Day Petanque Tournament at the Edmonds Civic Center Playfield July 14. This year’s Bastille Day contest was the largest event ever produced by the Edmonds Petanque Club, with 78 players coming from across the region, including Seattle, Kirkland, Renton, Tacoma, Port Townsend, Portland and Edmonds. Jean-Marc Fosseux, an Edmonds club member, even traveled from Paris to take part.
