Poll: Kitsap Sun male athlete of the decade, 2000-2009

Every year, the Kitsap Sun selects the top female and male high school athletes of the year, honors that went to North Kitsap's Mason Chmielewski and South Kitsap's Grace Degarimore in June.

Now, here's the chance for readers to tell us how those athletes stack up against each other, with decade-by-decade polls for sports fans all summer long. We've made our way back through the 2010s and now we're halfway through the decade that opened the century.

This week, readers can vote for your pick of the top male athlete among the men given our award from the years 2000-2009. Winners from that decade are Bainbridge's Bremerton's Nathan Adrian and Marvin Williams, Central Kitsap's Caleb Brown and Shane Moskowitz, North Kitsap's Jaren Prince, and South Kitsap's Brent Chriswell, Ryan Cole, Roger Cooper and Brian Cox.

This week's poll will run through Thursday evening. Previous poll-winners have been Kingston's Ruby Roberts (2010-19), North Kitsap's Jake Velarde (2010-19), and Bainbridge's Brooke Nall (2000-09).
