Two Indiana Arby’s to Close as Franchisee Files for Bankruptcy
The franchisee company operates Arby’s locations in five states and has now filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. I don't visit Arby’s all that often, and when I do, it's usually with a coupon. In the past, I've enjoyed their Classic Beef 'N Cheddar, Curly Fries, Mozzarella Sticks, and even their shakes from time to time. While Arby’s isn't my first choice dining locale, it is one of my wife's favorites, so having one close by has always been a good thing. Goodwill celebrates Class of 2024 graduates from the Gary and Hammond Excel Centers
Goodwill celebrated its latest class of graduates from the Gary and Hammond Excel Centers on June 7 with a ceremony attended by friends, supporters, and loved ones. Goodwill’s Excel Centers offer adult students the opportunity to obtain an Indiana Core 40 high school diploma for free while removing obstacles to education through services such as drop-in childcare, transportation assistance, and flexible scheduling. In addition to earning their high school diplomas, graduates looking to continue their education are provided with college preparatory support and the chance to earn post-diploma certifications.
Annual Leadership Day held at Crown Point
On Thursday, May 23, Crown Point Elementary held its annual leadership day highlighting the principles of the seven habits of the “Leader in Me” program launched at the school. Dana Driver, with the help of her “Lighthouse Leaders,” a selected group of proactive and responsible fifth graders, planned the leadership assemblies for all grade levels, from kindergarten to fifth grade. Parents were invited to attend their children’s assemblies held at various times throughout the day. The Lighthouse Leaders greeted students and their parents and led all the assemblies.
The Crown Point PACE Department is looking for a full-time laborer
Laborers help maintain all park property, including but not limited to grounds, buildings, structures, ice rink, splash pad, vehicles and tools/equipment. Laborers supervise part-time and seasonal maintenance staff; perform grounds maintenance, including landscaping, mowing, weeding, trimming, ice rink maintenance, snow and trash removal; complete basic building maintenance and repair; and help coordinate event set-up, clean-up and management.
