    Roseville woman tried to steal $170,000 from the City of Porterville, police say

    PORTERVILLE, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A woman from the Placer County city of Roseville was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of attempting to steal over $170,000 from the City of Porterville, according to the Porterville Police Department.

    Officers say 47-year-old Cheryl Jean Graham tried to steal the money related to a construction project. Investigators identified the bank used for the attempted fraudulent transaction and then identified the account holder.

    Cheryl Jean Graham was arrested on July 24 at her home in the 6000 block of Copper Glen Circle in Roseville. A search of her home found additional evidence, police say. Graham was then booked into the Tulare County Jail.
