According to an article from the Portland Business Journal , Black Star Grill will soon open a brick-and-mortar location at 110 NW 10th Avenue.

A representative of Black Star Grill was unable to provide any comments upon What Now Portland’s request.

“Ghanaian food cart Black Star Grill will open this summer in the Pearl, at 110 N.W. 10th Ave., in the space vacated by NOLA Doughnuts last year. The move from cart to a full brick-and-mortar restaurant has been a long time coming for chef-owner Enoch Aggrey and Victoria Agorsah,” the article states.

“The couple started cooking and serving up food from Ghana, where they were both born, in 2017 from a cart near the Portland State University campus. The cart was a hit, so by 2019 Aggrey started planning for a restaurant. Then the pandemic hit.”

“The space is about 5,000-square-feet with a large area below street level. To start, Aggrey plans to use the street-level space and is planning for about 35 seats. He hopes to use the lower space as the business grows.”

Black Star Grill’s website adds, “Our menu features dishes that are not only healthy and delicious, but also filled with the spices of Ghana. Each dish we make is prepared with love, extra special care, and healthy delicious ingredients to support and uplift your palate.”
