Monday, July 22 marks 10 years since 19-year-old Paul William Krekeler was shot dead in the Woodstock Neighborhood — a case that remains unsolved.

Portland Police Bureau's Homicide Unit asks anyone with information to come forward.

Reports of a shooting came in around 11 p.m. on July 22, 2014 in which Krekeler reportedly fell dead, with a gunshot wound to the chest, in the yard of a house near Southeast 57th Avenue and Harold Street.

His death marked the 16th homicide in Portland that year.

In a former report, witnesses said a white sport utility vehicle was seen driving south on 57th Avenue after gunshots went off; the vehicle was not confirmed by police as connected to the incident.

As the investigation continues, anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Christopher Traynor at christopher.traynor@police.portlandoregon.gov.
