PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — A driver is at large after a traffic stop in Clackamas County led to a police chase into Portland early Thursday morning.

Just before 12:30 a.m., a Clackamas County Sheriff’s deputy attempted a traffic stop on a car in the area of Southeast Roethe Boulevard and Highway 99E in the Jennings Lodge area.

Officials say the driver did not stop for the deputy and drove away. As a result, the deputy pursued the driver, attempting PIT techniques. However, the deputy stopped the chase when the driver made their way onto I-205 northbound near Southeast 91st and Foster Road.

The driver continued into Portland, then reportedly caught their car on fire after crashing into an unoccupied parked vehicle.

The driver then got out of the car and fled the scene, officials said.

No further information, including the identity of the driver, has been released at this time.
