Carolina Gets OT Win Over Maryland
The Carolina Chaos took on the Maryland Whipsnakes in the second Friday matchup of the PLL’s Week 6 slate in Fairfield, Connecticut. Carolina was coming off what was effectively a two-week bye, as they did not play in Week 5 before the All-Star break. With a 2-3 record, the Chaos were just one game behind the Utah Archers for the West Conference lead. International Soccer Star Visits Local Students
Students at MCPS’ Rolling Terrace Elementary School in Takoma Park got the chance to spend a summer afternoon with professional soccer star Luis Palma. Palma is a Honduran footballer who plays as a winger on the Scottish Premiership club Celtic and the Honduras national team. He has also played professionally in leagues in Honduras, the United Stated, and Greece. Palma became the second Honduran player to ever score in the Champions League when he scored for Celtic against Atletico Madrid in 2023.
