WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKEF) -- A driver was seriously injured after being thrown from their vehicle Thursday afternoon along I-675 in Washington Township. Montgomery County Sheriff's deputies responded to the scene, between the exits to State Route 725 and Fair Hills Avenue, where they say an SUV lost control and rolled several times. Witt sentenced for possession of drugs
GREENVILLE — A Versailles male was sentenced on the original charge of aggravated possession of drugs. Judge Travis L. Fliehman presided. Kyron J. Witt, 24, of Versailles, was sentenced after his In Lieu of Conviction on the original charge of possession of drugs, a felony of the fifth degree was deemed unsuccessful due to a probation violation and driving under the influence of alcohol/drug allegations. Witt originally pleaded guilty in 2022. He had no prior felonies, nor prior records, only had a DUI and was granted ILC with the notion he would not violate the terms of the agreement. His defense attorney David Rohrer advised the court that this case fits the mold for a community control sanction sentence.

Man rescued after tree standoff in Dayton
DAYTON, Ohio – Dayton first responders were called to an unusual rescue situation Tuesday when a man climbed a tree and made suicidal threats. Police and fire crews responded to the scene where they found the individual high in a tree, exhibiting erratic behavior. After a nearly two-and-a-half-hour standoff, authorities were able to de-escalate the situation and persuade the man to climb down safely. He sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
