Ryan Benge is the new Police Chief of the GPD
On July 17th, 2024, family, friends, and colleagues gathered in the city council chambers to celebrate the promotion of three of officers. Patrol Officer Alan Smith was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Sergeant Smith has been with the Greenville Police Department since 2008 and has held various assignments within the department to include defensive tactics instructor as well as Field Training Officer (FTO). Sergeant Smith will undergo training for his new role then be assigned as the midnight shift supervisor following his training.

Milton-Union Exempted Village School District Public Update
Milton-Union Exempted Village Schools today announced its 2024-2025 program year policy free and reduced-price meals or free milk for students unable to pay the full price of meals or milk served under the National School Lunch and School Breakfast, After School Care Snack or Special Milk Programs. Each school office and the central office has a copy of the policy, which may be reviewed by any interested party. The State of Ohio Budget for school year 2024-2025 includes funding to cover the cost of reduced meals for breakfast and lunch. This provision allows schools to provide no cost meals to reduced price meal eligible students.
