No injuries reported following a Hazardous Materials spill on I-80 Monday evening
(Walnut, Iowa) – Multiple agencies responded to a hazardous materials spill Monday evening in Pottawattamie County. According to Pottawattamie County Emergency Management Specialist Michell Bose, the incident occurred on the Exit Ramp from Interstate 80 westbound to Antique City Drive (Exit 46/Walnut), at around 5:30-p.m., Monday. The driver of a transport truck noticed something leaking from the cargo area, and pulled off the Interstate. The leaking material turned out to be Hydrogen Peroxide – a colorless liquid with a slightly sharp odor. Hydrogen peroxide can cause irritation to the eyes, nose, skin, and throat.

(Pottawattamie Co) Pottawattamie County Emergency Management Director Doug Reed updated the Board of Supervisors this morning on the ongoing disaster recovery response. Pottawattamie County was impacted by a tornado and severe storms on April 26th, flash flooding and severe weather from May 21st through the end of May, and the recent flooding of the Missouri River.
Cass County Woman Injured in Single-Vehicle Crash in Pottawattamie County
(Griswold) Debris from a passing storm is blamed for a single-vehicle accident in Pottawattamie County west of Griswold. The Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened at 8:55 p.m. on Sunday, on Highway 92. A passenger in the vehicle, identified as Jody Rossell of Griswold, was taken by private vehicle to Nebraska Medicine for treatment of injuries.
