Multiple agencies assist Douglas County with ending a vehicle chase near Myrtle Point
On July 15th, 2024, at 10:53 p.m., the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office entered Coos County on Hwy 42 at mile marker 45 in active pursuit of a Toyota Camry. Douglas County requested assistance from the Coos County Sheriff’s Office as the pursuit continued westbound towards Myrtle Point. Sgt. S. Moore and Deputy Z. TENMILE MAN JAILED AFTER PURSUIT INCIDENT MONDAY NIGHT
A Tenmile man was jailed after a pursuit incident late Monday night. A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 10:40 p.m. a deputy attempted to stop a sedan for violations in the 3000 block Strickland Canyon Road. The driver, 22-year-old Jered Thompson, proceeded west onto Highway 42 and continued with speeds between 60 and 100 miles per hour clear into Coos County before being spiked near Bridge by a Coos County deputy.
