Hwy. 101 Single Vehicle Crash Kills Three
Oregon State Police responded to a single vehicle crash on Hwy 101 very late Sunday evening, near Port Orford at approximately 11:40pm. The preliminary investigation indicated a southbound Ford F250 left the roadway for unknown reasons, traveled approximately 400 feet through a field, and struck a tree causing the vehicle to become engulfed in flames.
Riddle native Drake George selected by Giants in 13th round of MLB Draft
Riddle High School graduate Drake George was selected 388th overall in the 13th round by the San Francisco Giants on the final day of the Major League Baseball draft Tuesday. George spent the past three seasons at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho. The junior led the Warriors with 13 starts last spring and finished the season with a 6-2 record. George, who went by Drake Borschowa while at Riddle High School, had a 4.91 ERA with 74 strikeouts and 21 walks in 66 innings. He was named the Cascade Collegiate Conference co-Pitcher of the Year.

Unity By The Bay celebrates centennial with rededication July 21st
Unity By The Bay in North Bend, Oregon is celebrating the 100th birthday of its building on July 21st, at 1pm, when the building will be rededicated to the principles of Spirit. Originally built by First Presbyterian Church in 1924, the building was sold in 1967 when they moved to their new home. It was subsequently occupied by many businesses, including as a dinner theatre, butcher shop, call center and radio station. Unity By The Bay purchased and restored the building in 1999, and it remains a vibrant Unity center for spiritual growth today.
