Man hospitalized following reported drive-by shooting incident in west Eugene
EUGENE, Ore. – One person was hospitalized following a drive-by shooting in west Eugene late on Tuesday evening, according to Eugene Police Department officials. Police responded to a 911 call for reported shots fired at about 11:30 p.m. on July 16 at The Bailey at Amazon Creek Apartments in the 3600 block of West 13th Avenue, according to dispatch records. Police said that the victim, a man of unknown age, was struck multiple times by gunfire and taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. Witnesses in the area said they heard, and even saw, what they thought was a group of teenagers hanging around the area where the shooting happened.
