Junior Braves capture Zone Tourney title in shootout
After getting rained out in the second contest of the Junior Legion Zone Tournament on their home field on Tuesday night, the Hiawatha Post 66 Braves showed up the following night to find a much different opponent than the Seneca team that they defeated 33-0 the previous evening. The Topeka Post 400 Marlins posed a serious threat to Hiawatha’s undefeated season, and the squads battled like a pair of prize fighters, but it was the hosting team that would come out ahead after a back and forth contest that required everything they had in the tank.

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Update: Two people were taken to the hospital after a motorcycle crash near Second and Seneca late Tuesday afternoon. Officers were called to the 300 block N. Fern around 6 p.m. They arrived to find two people in the road. They learned a motorcycle was northbound on Fern when the driver lost control. He and his passenger were thrown from the bike. Witnesses said the motorcycle appeared to be speeding.
