New Police Officer For Prairie du Chein
The newest Police Officer with the Prairie du Chien Police Department completed his 720 hour Law Enforcement Academy at Southwest Tech in Fennimore. Officer Ryley Scott began his academy in January and his class graduated Friday night. Officer Scott joins the department after a career with the Iowa Department of Corrections. Officer Scott received two awards that his fellow classmates voted on. He received the Academy Leadership Award for his display of positive leadership during the academy. He also received the Academy Backup Officer Award. Officer Scott was voted by his peers as the classmate they would most like to have for backup on a call for service. Adding to his awards, he received the class Top Gun award for his marksmanship on the range. Officer Scott will begin field training today (Monday).After 10 weeks of field training he will be assigned to the night shift patrol.
