A Kansas City student is among the fastest middle schoolers in the country. Ella Messner ran 1600 meters in 5:04.35 at the HOKA Festival of Miles in St. Louis this spring, breaking her previous personal record by 17 seconds. That time is the fifth-fastest mile for middle school girls in the country right now.
Kansas City performer finalist at National High School Musical Theater Awards
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Recent Bishop Miege High School graduate Peter Dessert was one of eight finalists in The Jimmy Awards on June 24. The Jimmy Awards are the National High School Musical Theater Awards and celebrate student achievement recognizing student artistry in vocal, dance and acting performance. As this 2024-2025 school year begins, the Shawnee Mission Board of Education has approved the adoption of an updated Strategic Plan.
