JEFFERSON DAVIS COUNTY, Miss. ( WHLT ) – A woman pled guilty in connection to the 2022 death of a man in Mississippi.

Hal Kittrell, 15th Circuit Court District Attorney, announced 22-year-old Sierra Jane Inscoe, of Prentiss, pled guilty to murder for the shooting death of Carson Sistrunk.

Former Jasper County teacher charged with sexual battery

Authorities said Sistrunk’s body was found on September 7, 2022, on Gulf Camp Road. The 24-year-old had been reported missing a few days earlier by the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office.

According to family member’s post on social media, Sistrunk had gone to meet a woman he had been communicating with online.

Investigator said Sistrunk’s vehicle was located in Jefferson Davis County with Inscoe driving.

After Inscoe pled guilty, Circuit Court Judge Richelle Lumpkin sentenced her to 40 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) with 35 of those years having to be served without the possibility of parole or early release.
