$9.8 Million Upgrade: Prescott's SR 69 Set for Expansion and Safety Enhancements
Prescott motorists are set to see some changes as the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) begins a new construction project aimed at enhancing traffic flow and safety. Starting next week, a mile stretch of State Route 69 will be expanded to accommodate additional lanes and a raised center median. ADOT, hand in hand with the Central Yavapai Metropolitan Planning Organization, has mapped out the area between Prescott Lakes Parkway and Frontier Village, corresponding to mileposts 294-295, for development.

Prescott Street Closure Details for July 4-7 Events
The City of Prescott would like to make the community aware of road closures and parking restrictions in the Downtown area during the weekend of July 4 through July 7. There are several special events in and around the Downtown area, with multiple events occurring on the same dates. Drivers are encouraged to arrive at events early and to obey all “no parking”, detour, and road closure signs.

For the second time in less than five years, federal investigators found the Northern Arizona VA Health System failed to protect its employees from patient violence. The report by investigators with the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration, or OSHA, stemmed from an encounter involving a newly admitted patient in a locked dementia unit at the Bob Stump VA Medical Center in Prescott, a federal notice said.

July 5, 2024 – The City of Prescott Preservation Commission will have a regular meeting on Friday, July 12 at 9 am at 201 N. Montezuma Street, Third Floor Council Chambers, to hear an update on the plans for The Assembly at Old City Hall project. The proposed redevelopment project has spaces for retail and restaurants on the main level with upper levels consisting of a hotel with 109 guestrooms and conference/meeting space.
