    College News: Graduations, scholarships and dean's lists

    NTC scholarships

    The Northwood Technical College Foundation announced the fall 2024 semester scholarship awards to 220 students totaling $103,370 with an average award of $470 on May 15. Three area students were awarded scholarships to attend Northwood Technical College campuses in Ashland and Rice Lake.

    Pria Popowski, of Fifield, received the Tashina Guthrie Memorial Scholarship to study early childhood education at the NTC Rice Lake campus.

    Gunner Komarek, of Park Falls, received the Helen (Happy) and Frank A. Lulich Memorial Scholarship to study Machine Tool Operation at the NTC Ashland campus.

    Jerricca Walters, of of Park Falls, received the Marlys Nortunen Memorial Scholarship to pursue an associate degree in nursing at the NTC Ashland campus.

    Trajkovski graduates UM-Milwaukee

    Alexandria Trajkovski, of Fifield, will be included with the spring commencement exercise on May 19 at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Letters & Science.

    Two make SNHU president’s list

    Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) in Manchester announced that Mckenzi Franz, of Phillips, and Leila Heikkinen, of Prentice, were named to the Winter 2024 president's list. The list is for full-time undergraduate students who earn a minimum 3.7 GPA.

    Pasewald on WTC president's list

    Western Technical College in LaCrosse, Wisconsin has named Eva Pasewald, of Park Falls, to the president's list of high distinction for spring term 2024. To qualify for the list, full time students must achieve a 3.5 GPA or higher.

    Kaster on UWW dean's list

    The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater has included Tony Kaster, of Phillips, on the 2024 spring semester dean's list. To qualify, full time students must receive a 3.4 semester GPA or higher.
