Pleasant Valley works overtime to earn a trip to state
IOWA CITY, Iowa (KWQC) - It took 12 innings and just under 4 hours, but an up and down season for the Pleasant Valley Spartans will continue on in the state tournament. A Jack Reiter RBI in the top of the 12th inning would put the Spartans ahead by a single run, and Adam Bratcher would shut down the Lightning in the bottom half to begin a well earned celebration just before the clock hit 11 PM.
Intense night of racing at Davenport Speedway
The final night of racing at Davenport Speedway before the Mississippi Valley Fair is usually an intense one, such was the case again this season. For the first time this year, the Outhouse and Storage to Go Container Rentals IMCA Late Model class had a back-to-back feature winner. Evan Miller started in the fourth row and would not see the lead until lap twenty-two of the main. Once in front, Miller pulled away and ended with a 1.323 second advantage over second place Jesse Bodin.
Kids swim, bike and run in DeWitt youth triathlon
Kids from six to 15 years old competed Friday in a youth triathlon in DeWitt. It’s part of the DeWitt Crossroads Triathlons.
