It's easy to say that the 2024 Iowa Hawkeyes will go as quarterback Cade McNamara goes. If he has a strong season, there is little standing in the Hawkeyes' way of a 10-win season and a shot at the playoffs. If he doesn't, the same frustrations of yesteryear will no doubt persist.
Mushroom Foray comes to Cedar Rapids Public Library
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Getting out into nature is great, but staying safe and knowing what you’re looking at is important. Saturday, the Prairie States Mushroom Club is giving a presentation on what a mushroom is, and how mushrooms can be used. The presentation starts at 10 a.m. at the Cedar Rapids Public Library and is open to all mushroom-hunting experience levels, including beginners.
Two people shot in Iowa City, triggering UI Hawk Alert
IOWA CITY, Iowa — Iowa City Police say two people are recovering after both were shot early Saturday morning. Officers were called to the 100 block of S. Dubuque Street just before 1:00am. When they arrived, they found two people with gunshot wounds. Both were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Right now, work is being done on the intersection of 16th and 3rd Street, but work is expected to continue down the road into the fall.

New Venue For Dubuque Arts Council Summer Concerts Announced
According to the Telegraph Herald, the Dubuque Arts Council has announced a new venue for its Music in the Gardens concert series in 2025. Beginning next year, the concerts series name will be Music at the Star and will take place at the Aliant Energy Amphitheater located in front of the Star Brewery in the Port of Dubuque area.

The location at 1470 Twixt Town Road in Marion has been open since 1993. Now, another Michael's location will be opening up on the southwest side of Cedar Rapids.
