EVANSVILLE — Records unsealed Monday in the murder of 37-year-old Joshua A. Seymour, who was found dead from a gunshot wound last week inside an East Louisiana Street home, raised questions about how a supposed heated argument escalated into deadly gunfire. EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) -Pleasant July temperatures will stay with the Tri-State through the work week. Daily highs will rise into the mid to upper 80s, slightly cooler than normal, and lows will drop into the middle 60s each night, also cooler than normal. Early sunshine will give way to partly cloudy skies each day with scattered showers and storms popping up during the heat of the day and diminishing after sunset. Coverage of the storms will be fairly isolated, so widespread soaking rain is not likely this week. For the month, we are ahead of normal rainfall by about a half inch and slightly cooler than the average. Temperatures will push back toward 90 by the end of the weekend.
ISP INVESTIGATING 2 VEHICLE FATAL TRAFFIC CRASH
(EFFINGHAM) The Illinois State Police are continuing to investigate a two vehicle traffic crash that occurred at approximately 5:45 this past Friday evening in Jasper County. Troop 9 Headquarters reports that a car, driven by 47 year old Jason Nation of Springfield, Illinois, was traveling westbound on Illinois Route 33, about three miles northwest of Newton, when he attempted to pass another westbound vehicle, and struck an eastbound utility van head-on. While Nation was pronounced deceased at the scene while the driver of Unit Two, 31 year old Christopher R. Huckelby of Jasper, Indiana, and a passenger, 47 year old Jason J. Trentz of Raleigh, Illinois, were both taken to area hospitals with injuries. Route 33 was closed for nearly seven hours for the crash investigation and clean up. Emergency crews from Jasper County assisted the ISP at the accident scene. No other details are available.
McCutchanville Fire Department To Host Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser
Nothing starts off a day better than a pancake breakfast! They taste even better when you’re eating them for a good cause. The McCutchanville Fire Department in Evansville is hosting a pancake breakfast fundraiser on August 3rd, and you’re invited! The event will be at Prime Time North off Highway 41 starting at 8am. Tickets are $10 per person and the event will last until 11am. Each ticket purchased will guarantee you all you can eat pancakes, one side of breakfast sausage, and coffee provided by Kingdom Grounds Coffee. Tea and soda will also be available.
