    Man faces charges after high-speed chase in Kentucky

    TRIGG COUNTY, Ky. (WKRN) — One suspect is facing charges after a high-speed chase that entered part of Trigg County, Kentucky, according to the sheriff’s office.

    A social media post from the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office said that on July 22, deputies pursued a vehicle going at a high rate of speed near Hopson Store Road. The suspect was identified as Joseph Pierce of Princeton, Kentucky.

    Deputies assisted the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office as the chase continued onto Blackhawk, with the driver disregarding construction equipment. Pierce allegedly disregarded multiple stop signs and drove through intersections at speeds over 80 miles per hour.

    Once the chase entered Cerulean, the suspect left the roadway and traveled off-road before hitting a tree and coming to a stop. Deputies with the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office were then able to place Pierce in custody.

    Pierce’s charges include:

    • Wanton endangerment in the first degree
    • Reckless driving
    • DUI in the first degree
    • Resisting arrest
    • Disregarding stop sign, for which he faces multiple counts
    • Failure to wear a seat belt
    • No registration of plates
    • Failure of owner to maintain insurance

    “The Trigg County Sheriff’s Office will continue to work with it’s neighboring counties to help maintain public safety for our communities,” the post read, in part.
