A man was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Princeton on Monday, July 1.

While exiting Highway 169 on the northbound ramp toward Highway 95, a dump truck was rear-ended.

At approximately 10:40 a.m., William Franks, 42, from Stacy, was waiting on the off-ramp from Highway 169 to turn east onto Highway 95 in a 1999 Kenworth Dump Truck, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

At the same time, Lloyd Otto, 60, from Saint Francis, was also exiting Highway 169 on the off-ramp towards Highway 95 in a 2014 Honda CR-V when the Honda rear-ended the dump truck as it was waiting to turn, the State Patrol reported.

Otto sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the crash and was transported to M Health Fairview Northland Medical Center in Princeton for treatment, according to the State Patrol. Otto was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Franks was uninjured in the crash, and was wearing a seat belt, the State Patrol reported. No other vehicles or passengers were involved.

According to the State Patrol, road conditions were dry and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

The Princeton Police Department, Princeton Fire and Rescue Department, Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office, and Allina Health assisted the State Patrol at the scene.
