Small Fire Breaks Out In Temple Chaverim of Plainview During Passover

PLAINVIEW, N.Y. - Firefighters and an effective sprinkler system extinguished a small fire in an office at Temple Chaverim of Plainview on Washington Avenue late Wednesday night.

At around 9:50PM on Wednesday, the Plainview Fire Department responded to a call from vigilant neighbors reporting a fire alarm sounding at the temple on Washington Avenue.

Arriving first responders discovered that a small fire had sparked inside an office, but was mostly extinguished by the temple's fire sprinkler system. Firefighters swiftly doused the remaining areas of fire and successfully contained the flames before they could spread further.

Firefighters from the Syosset, Bethpage, and Melville Fire Departments responded to the scene to assist.

There were no reported injuries.

Officials from the Town of Huntington and Nassau County Fire Marshal's Offices are investigating.
