New Trustees on CGH Health Foundation Board
In June 2024, Larry Cooper and Julia Mendez, both of Sterling, IL, were appointed as new trustees of the CGH Health Foundation Board. Since 1987, the focus of the Foundation has been to raise funds to sponsor health initiatives, which serve Sauk Valley area children and adults. As ambassadors for the 501(c)(3) corporation, the pair will assist with fundraising and help oversee the program/operating budget, policies, and special events. They join a 15-member Board of Trustees.

Dunkin’ opens second location in Belvidere
BELVIDERE, Ill. (WIFR) - Belvidere is running on Dunkin’ with their new location. On Tuesday, Belvidere officials gathered with owner Kiran Kayastha for a ribbon-cutting and grand opening ceremony at the new location at 320 W. Chrysler Drive. This is the second Dunkin’ location in Belvidere, with the first being located inside Walmart.

BELVIDERE, Ill. (WIFR) - The future of Belvidere’s electric vehicle plant enters unchartered territory following President Joe Biden’s departure from the race. Local UAW 1268 President Matt Frantzen says he’s not surprised Biden dropped out, but he’s disappointed by the decision. Biden played a key role in re-opening the Stellantis plant as a manufacturer of electric vehicle parts. Most recently, the Biden administration secured more than $334 million from the Department of Energy to support the shift to EVs. This move is expected to restore nearly 1500 UAW jobs to the city of murals.
