SKOKIE, Ill. (CBS) – A north suburban community was still trying to locate an 82-year-old woman who went missing in Skokie on Monday.Tsering Wangyal was on her way to a prayer meeting, and she had no mental or physical limitations that might have explained her absence. She was last seen around 3:30 p.m. on Monday in the area of the 9500 block of Bronx Place, according to police.She is a 5-foot-1, 160-pound Asian American woman with silver hair and brown eyes. Two men are facing charges after an incident at a Bloomingdale grocery store where an Israeli flag was defaced. Tabshir Rizvi, 23, of Bloomingdale, and Mohammed Faroun, 22, of Hoffman Estates, allegedly spray-painted "FREE GAZA" on the flag at Woodman's Food Market late last month, an act the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office is treating as a hate crime.

Omenai Gallery is opening its first physical space, in West Town, presenting “In-Between Ashes,” a selection of works by Ghanaian artist Kwaku Owusu Achim, opening tonight, July 19, through August 23. This is the artist’s first solo show and debut solo showcase in the United States. Founded by Gbenro Adeyemo, Omenai Gallery inaugurates its hybrid, digital-physical model at 1716 West Grand, three years after the OMENAI brand, “a natively social media and digital editorial platform, was created. The digital-physical expansion follows a wave of interest from artists, collectors and enthusiasts, who since 2021 have lauded the brand for democratizing access to the contemporary African art market, both on the African continent and throughout its diaspora.”
