Discovery hires Sweatman as Assistant Principal/Athletic Director
MADISON – After establishing a solid record at Bob Jones High School, Matthew Sweatman will work now as Assistant Principal/Athletic Director at Discovery Middle School. In 2015, then Principal Robby Parker hired Sweatman as head wrestling coach, football offensive line coach and special education teacher. In 2021, he joined Coach Whitney Deaver’s softball staff. “I learned a tremendous amount from Coach Deaver,” Sweatman said.

2024 table tennis championship to be held right here
The city of Huntsville has been awarded the opportunity to host the 2024 World Table Tennis Youth Contender as well as the USA Table Tennis Nationals. From July 3-7, the Von Braun Center will be used as the location of the 2024 table tennis national championship. Before that, the Athletic Club Alabama Complex will host over 100 of the top junior contenders from around the world.
