    Shooting suspect captured in Pueblo

    (PUEBLO, Colo.) — According to a spokesperson with PPD, the suspect in the earlier shooting near Lake Minnequa that left a 17-year-old seriously injured has been captured.

    The Pueblo Police Department (PPD) is asking the community to avoid a neighborhood near Lake Minnequa after a 17-year-old was shot, and officers are trying to catch the suspect.

    According to PPD , around 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, a 17-year-old boy arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound that left him in serious condition.

    PPD said officers were able to identify a possible suspect and are currently working to locate and contact the suspect in the 2400 block of Lake Avenue, on the northeast side of Lake Minnequa. PPD said there is a heavy police presence in the surrounding neighborhood and the community is urged to avoid the area.
