    PPD investigating homicide after body found on north side

    (PUEBLO, Colo.) — The Pueblo Police Department (PPD) is investigating a homicide after a body was found on the north side of Pueblo on Sunday, July 21.

    According to PPD, officers responded just before 2:45 p.m. on Sunday to a report of a dead body close to Fountain Creek in the 2800 block of Dillon Drive, southeast of I-25 and East 29th Street. When officers arrived, they found an adult man dead of apparent gunshot wounds.

    PPD said Crimes Against Persons and Crime Scene Investigations detectives responded and are investigating the death as a homicide.

    The victim will be identified by the Pueblo County Coroner, who will also determine the official cause and manner of death. This is the 15th homicide in Pueblo in 2024.
