    Pueblo police investigating homicide after man found dead near Fountain Creek

    Pueblo police are investigating a homicide after finding a body on the northeast side of town.

    On July 21, at approximately 2:42 P.M., the Pueblo Police Department was notified of a deceased body close to Fountain Creek near the 2800 block of Dillon Drive.

    Officers arrived at the scene and found a man dead with apparent gunshot wounds, according to a Pueblo PD news release. Detectives are investigating the death as a homicide.

    The victim will be identified by the Pueblo County Coroner's Office after his next of kin have been notified. The coroner’s office will also determine his cause and manner of death.

    The homicide is the 15th in the city of Pueblo so far in 2024.
