SPOKANE, Wash. - Over the last year, the Pac-12 has become the Pac-2.

While Washington State and Oregon State are still looking for a permanent conference home, a number of former Cougs have come to the defense of the two schools, including former WSU head coach Paul Wulff.

Wulff coached the Cougars from 2008-2011 and is responsible for WSU's lowest winning percentage in school history.

Still, he defended the Cougs at Big Sky Media Day. Wulff is hopeful that WSU could find a new conference within the next year.

"They have all the necessary things that you want to be able to play where they want to play and there's definitely a brand is attractive that they could be able to provide a lot of value to a conference," said Wulff.

Now a head coach for Cal Poly, Wulff said that conference realignment has also impacted the Big Sky as players are leaving the conference for bigger schools.
