St. Vincent de Paul – Sacred Heart Conference in Punta Gorda announced that it has been awarded a generous $8,000 grant from Beyond Ourselves, For the Love of Kids Home Tour. This grant will be instrumental in supporting the organization’s mission to provide essential resources and assistance to children in need within the community.

The grant was presented to St. Vincent de Paul’s representatives Tony Rivera, Sandy Biell, Jerry Presseller and Connie Kantor, who gratefully accepted the contribution. Sandy Biell, a dedicated Vincentian and member of Beyond Ourselves, played an integral role in advocating for St. Vincent de Paul during the competitive application and selection process.

St. Vincent de Paul faced stiff competition among nonprofits vying for recognition and funding from Beyond Ourselves for their ministries and programs specifically benefiting children. However, thanks to the tireless efforts of Biell and the unwavering commitment of the organization to serve its community, St. Vincent de Paul emerged as a deserving recipient of the grant.

The $8,000 grant will be allocated towards the purchase of beds for children in need. Approximately 62 children are expected to benefit from this grant, with the exact number dependent on the types of beds purchased over the next 12 months. This grant will significantly contribute to St. Vincent de Paul’s ongoing efforts to provide a safe and comfortable sleeping environment for vulnerable children in the community.

Last fiscal year, St. Vincent de Paul purchased 111 beds for children, and with the support of this grant, the organization aims to continue and expand its impact in the coming year.

“We are incredibly grateful to Beyond Ourselves for their generous support and recognition of our mission to serve children in need,” said Presseller, president of St. Vincent de Paul Society – Sacred Heart, Punta Gorda. “This grant will enable us to provide essential resources to even more children in our community, ensuring they have a safe and comfortable place to rest and grow.”

St. Vincent de Paul – Sacred Heart Conference in Punta Gorda extends its heartfelt appreciation to Beyond Ourselves for its commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of children and families. The organization looks forward to utilizing the grant to continue its impactful work within the community.
