PUNTA GORDA — If you're thinking about attending a home Savannah Bananas baseball game or seeking a fresh lobster roll, Allegiant Airlines is lining up new flights that might help.

The new flights from Punta Gorda Airport to Georgia and from Sarasota-Bradenton International to New Hampshire will start lifting off in November, Allegiant announced.

"The addition of new routes is a testament to the success of our existing service in these communities," Allegiant Chief Revenue Officer Drew Wells stated in a news release. “Our network planning team is responsive to consumer demand, constantly looking for opportunities to enhance the leisure travel experience. The new service kicks off just in time to plan warm winter getaways to sought-after coastal destinations.”

The route from PGD will head toward Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport starting Nov. 14, it stated.

“Allegiant’s new Savannah route is an exciting addition for PGD,” Punta Gorda Airport CEO James Parish said in the news release. “It will be a convenient route for both southwest Floridians and Georgians to explore each region’s historic downtowns, coastal beaches and outdoor activities.”

There will also be flights from St. Pete/Clearwater to Savannah/Hilton Head starting Nov. 15.

The new route from Sarasota Bradenton International Airport to New England is set to start Nov. 23. It will head toward Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and its Portsmouth International Airport at Pease.
