Three men arrested after reports of shots fired Tuesday in Macomb
MACOMB, Ill. — Three men were arrested Tuesday after officers with the Macomb Police Department responded to the area of Albert and Piper for a report of shots fired. Officers arrived on the scene at 12:16 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, and determined no one was injured and the suspects had fled the scene. Officers began collecting evidence and searched the neighborhood for the suspects’ vehicle. MPD officers eventually found the vehicle and developed information that the suspects were in a Macomb residence and likely still armed.

Lawmakers say two recently passed bills save motorists time, enhance convenience
(The Center Square) – The Illinois legislature voted to provide motorists an option at the DMV of a four-year or eight-year driver’s license. They also approved the option of having a digital driver's license. State Sen. Andrew Chesney, R-Freeport, who supported Senate Bill 275, said the eight-year license is double the cost, but the time savings and convenience will be attractive to many motorists. 67 Chargers Earn Academic All-Region 4 for Spring Semester
Sixty-seven Sandburg student-athletes earned Academic All-NJCAA Region 4 honors for the 2024 spring semester. Honorees had to achieve at least a 3.0 grade point average and pass a minimum of 12 credit hours to earn the distinction. Among Sandburg’s recipients, 44 had a GPA of 3.50 or better. Nineteen Chargers had a perfect 4.0 GPA, and each Sandburg team was represented within that group of student-athletes with an unblemished GPA.
