One suburban Chicago mall is getting the state's first brick-and-mortar retail location of Rihanna's popular apparel brand Savage X Fenty. Savage X Fenty opens Friday at Orland Square Mall in Orland Park in the southwest suburbs, according to a press release. Man injured in late-night Peoria shooting
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — A 19-year-old man was sent to the hospital being shot near Starr Street and Westmoreland Avenue Wednesday night. According to a report filed at the Peoria Police Department, shortly after 11 p.m. Wednesday, an alert from the ShotSpotter gunfire detection system indicated that 10 rounds were fired near the intersection of south Westmoreland Avenue and West Starr Street. While officers were headed toward the intersection, they were told a victim was at Starr Liquors located at in the 2000 block of West Starr Street.

More tornadoes than first thought during Monday’s derecho
The National Weather Service in two offices says even more tornadoes hit close to the Galesburg area on Monday night than were first confirmed. The Quad Cities office says their service areas had seven tornadoes spawn from the derecho that went across the area, while the weather service office in Lincoln says they’re now counting six — mostly in the Peoria area.
