If you want to get your groove on, an event in Puyallup could help.

The Puyallup Main Street Association will host its inaugural Fusion Music Festival from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 21 at Pioneer Park. It is free to attend.

Attendees can expect food, performers and local artisans. Tacos and shaved ice are some of the types of food vendors will offer. Some artisans will have paintings and children’s accessories, among other items.

    • Kupono with Dancers from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

    • One World Taiko from 1-2 p.m.

    • La Clave from 2:30-4 p.m.

    • Smilin Scandinavians from 4:30-6 p.m.

    • Nahui Ollin Tezcatlipoca from 6:05-6:25 p.m.

    • Mariachi Ayutla from 6:30-8 p.m.

Event coordinator Kelty Pierce told The News Tribune that a School of Rock group will have a musical instrument petting zoo for attendees to touch and see different kinds of instruments.

The festival is “an opportunity to be exposed to new kinds of music and food,” Pierce said.
