Meet the accomplished contestants who will compete for the titles of Miss Iowa and Miss Iowa’s Teen and who will advance to represent Iowa in the Miss America and Miss America’s Teen competitions. The Miss Iowa Scholarship Program provides scholarship awards within a competitive system designed to enhance educational and career opportunities for young women. Our Program exposes participants to experiences that strengthen confidence, showcase talents, and promote community service. The Miss America Organization, from the local to national level, is one of the largest providers of scholarships to women in the world.

The Rock Island Broadway Walking Tour is slated for June 17. The tour runs 10 am to 11:30 am; walk meets in Rock Island Downtown Library parking lot. Free walk of the Broadway Historic District, led by members of the Broadway Historic District Association. Don’t miss this chance to learn about historic homes along 20th and 22nd Streets, and see the Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum. About one mile, fairly flat terrain, so wear comfortable shoes. Davenport Nine-Year-Old Knox Reaves Qualifies For Team USA BMX Championships
A nine-year-old from Davenport has qualified for Team USA and to compete in the UCI Cycling World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland in August of 2023. Knox “Fort Knox” Reaves has been racing BMX since he was able to stand. He has been practicing at East Moline BMX two nights per week and competing around the nation at BMX tracks like Music City BMX (Nashville, TN), Oldsmar BMX Supercross (Oldsmar, Florida), and Hardesty National BMX Stadium (Tulsa, Oklahoma).
