Discover Delmarva: Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum
ST. MICHAELS, Md.- The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum holds much more than just artifacts. Each artifact comes with a story from a local community member giving their first-hand experience. Chief Historian Pete Lesher showed WMDT some of the new offerings “The museum’s new welcome center shows off a large part of our collection of our watercraft collection.”
Olde Kent Quilters Guild exhibit of small quilts is Sept. 1-28 at Heron Point
CHESTERTOWN — Olde Kent Quilters Guild will be bringing its exhibit of art quilts, wall quilts and other small works — titled “Shore Love Little Quilts!” — to Heron Point for the month of September. The public is invited to view from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, Sept. 1-28. There is no admission cost.

VisArts is pleased to present “Los Extranjeros,” a new exhibition curated by VisArts’ 2024 Mentoring Curator Mehveş Lelic. The show, which features an immersive, site-specific installation by Baltimore-based artist, illustrator, and designer TLaloC, with audio by composer and musician Miguel Soto, will be in the Kaplan Gallery from August 23-October 13. An opening celebration will be held September 6 from 7-9 p.m.
Living Writers Poetry Series brings Pulitzer Prize winning talent to Washington College
This fall, Washington College’s Rose O’Neill Literary House and the Sophie Kerr Committee will collaborate to host the Living Writers Poetry Series, featuring two Pulitzer Prize winning poets as well as writers whose works have been recognized by the National Book Critics Circle Awards, the National Book Awards, the Whiting Foundation, the Lambda Literary Foundation, and Kundiman, among other prestigious organizations.
