IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – A Statesville woman is under arrest after cocaine was seized from a motel room that she was in, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office said on Thursday.

Deputies began conducting surveillance at the Hallmark Inn Motel on Davie Ave. following tips regarding suspicious behavior in the area. Members of an Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team made contact with two occupants in one of the rooms and a search was conducted.

Cocaine was seized and Statesville resident Patrice Torrence, 41, was arrested and faces charges that include cocaine possession.

She is being held on a $5,000 secured bond and has already appeared in court. There is no mention of charges against the other occupant of the room. Torrence has a criminal history that includes assault, DWI, and resisting offenses.
