    Drugs stolen from Iredell County pharmacies, three charged: PD

    MOORESVILLE, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — Three people were charged with drug possession in Iredell County where two of the suspects stole drugs from local drug stores, according to the Mooresville Police Department.

    Around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13, officers received an alert for an automatic license plate reader about a vehicle related to a wanted man with several out-of-state warrants. Officers found the car in the parking lot of an AT&T on Highway 150.

    Officers talked with the passenger of the vehicle and were told there was marijuana in the car. The driver of the car was inside the AT&T, officials said. Both the driver and the passenger were found to have outstanding warrants for their arrest.

    Officers searched the vehicle and found a small amount of fentanyl as well as over-the-counter pharmacy items that were stolen from a CVS. A third suspect was found with over-the-counter items stolen from a Walgreens, police said.

    Okeem Lamar Hunter, 18, was charged with possession of marijuana felony common law robbery. He was booked into the Iredell County Detention Center without bond due to currently being out on bond.

    Logan Guffie, 36, was booked into the Iredell County Detention Center with a $1,000 secured bond for possession of drug paraphernalia.

    Richard Atkins, 48, was charged with two counts of misdemeanor larceny and felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance. He was booked into the Iredell County Detention Center without bond due to currently being out on bond.

    Authorities say the investigation into organized retail theft is still active and more charges are pending.
