Texarkana ISD mourns passing of longtime board member
TEXARKANA, Texas (KSLA) - INFORMATION PROVIDED BY TEXARKANA ISD:. It is with profound sadness that Texarkana Independent School District (TISD) announces the passing of Gerald Brooks, a dedicated and longtime member of our community and the TISD Board of Trustees. Mr. Brooks passed away Sunday leaving behind a legacy of service, education, and commitment to the betterment of our community.
Texas student’s Tax-Free Holiday
School is about ready to be back in session within just a couple of weeks. In preparation, area parents begin to figure out ways to budget for school supplies, computers, and clothing. The good news is that the state of Texas has a tax-free day that helps parents get through the challenging season. TC Trustees Congratulate 2024 NISOD Excellence Award Recipients
Texarkana College recognized its recipients of the annual National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) Excellence Awards at the Board of Trustees meeting held Monday. Each year TC recognizes two individuals as NISOD nominees, one faculty member and one staff member, who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment and contribution to their students and colleagues. The recipients attend the NISOD Conference held in Austin, TX, and accept the awards alongside honorees representing technical and community colleges across the nation. TC’s 2024 honorees were Holley Robinson, who serves as faculty in TC’s STEM division an associate professor of biology, and Brandon Washington, who serves as TC’s vice president of campus operations and dean of the workforce training division.
Texarkana College Open Saturday, July 27th for Fall Enrollment
Texarkana College is excited to announce “Start or Start Over” Saturday, a special event designed to help new or current students register for the upcoming Fall semester.
