    Queen City’s powerlifting program competed in the Maud Meet on Feb. 1.

    The boys’ team finished first overall and the girls’ team finished fifth overall. The top five finishers received medals.

    Those who received medals for the girls were, Brenna Turbeville - second place, Abigail Leverett - second place, Zoe Breach third place, Ruby Mc-Casland - fourth place and Bailee Black - fifth place and Zoe Breach fifth place.

    Those who received medals for the boys were, Daniel Jones first place, David Jackson - first place, Delvon Federick - second place, Ke’Idie Harrison - second place, Charlie Kirkland - third place, Riley Newkirk - fourth place, Christian Nard - fourth place, Isaac Thomas - fourth place and Caleb Kimble - fifth place.

    Other notable finishes: Tyson Bell - placed sixth, Wyatt Peacock - placed 11th, Jameson White placed 11th, Bryant Breach - placed 11th, Aniyah Wilson - placed 11th, Kingston Boyter - placed 15th, Trent Treadway - placed 15th and Wyatt Peacock - placed 16th.

    QC currently has several lifters ranked in the top 12 in the Regional Rankings.

    The top 12 advance to the Regional Meet. There are two more weeks left in the season before Last Chance Qualifier Meets begins.

    Current Regional Rankings for the girls, Abigail Leverett - third place, Bailee Black - 11th place and Ruby McCasland - 16th place.

    Current Regional Rankings for the boys, Daniel Jones - third place, David Jackson - fourth place, Delvon Federick - fourth place, Christian Nard eighth place, Ke’idie Harrison - 10th place, Charlie Kirkland - 14th place, Riley Newkirk - 14th place, Trent Treadway - 15th place, Caleb Kimble - 16th place and Tyson Bell - 16th place.

    For the ladies, Brenna Turbeville placed eighth in her weight class with a total lift of 505 pounds, Zoe Breach placed eighth in her weight class with a total lift of 545 pounds, Abigail Leverett placed second in her weight class with a total lift of 710 pounds, Aniyah Wilson placed 15th in her weight class with a total lift of 505 pounds, Bailee Black placed 10th in her weight class with a total lift of 610 pounds and Romy Beluet placed second in her weight class with a total lift of 530 pounds.
