Soccer, coffee and pizza fans can look forward to another Tutto Calcio Espresso Bar .

Vinny LaPuma and Joe Pirreca opened the first Tutto Calcio Espresso Bar about four years ago in Queens. Ever since then, the duo has had an eye out for the perfect property to build a second location. They have secured a location at 24 John St. in Lower Manhattan.

What Now NY connected with LaPuma over the phone to learn more about the new location.

“In the Financial District time is money and no one wants to be sitting around waiting for food,” LaPuma said. “We provide a fast-paced dining experience where people can get reliable, good quality food.”

The concept of Tutto Calcio Espresso Bar is an Italian style espresso bar with a soccer theme. In fact “Tutto Calcio” means “All Things Soccer” in Italian. The owners were inspired by the idea of soccer being a universal sport to create an inviting space with something for everyone on the menu.

Their menu features espresso-based coffee drinks as well as pastries, baked items, flatbread paninis, salads, pastas and Schiacciata personal pizzas.

“We offer a little bit of everything, so you can get anything from breakfast through dinner and dessert at Tutto Calcio,” said LaPuma. “The universality of soccer goes hand in hand with our concept. Tutto Calcio Espresso Bar is a place to come in to watch a game, have a coffee, a meal or a dessert.”

Opening the original Tutto Calcio Espresso Bar marked LaPuma and Pirreca’s entrance into the restaurant and hospitality industry. Previously, LaPuma owned an insurance agency and Pirreca a demolition company. The two friends often spoke about opening a small café to meet up in the morning for a coffee and croissant before heading to work.

The new Tutto Calcio Espresso Bar will be located at the base of the Artezen Hotel , a boutique hotel that opened a few years ago. According to LaPuma, the space was originally built out to be a restaurant, but a tenant never occupied the space.

“We are going to have a full espresso bar counter,” said LaPuma. “There will be plenty of hot display cases with pizzas, cold displays for flatbread paninis and salads, and a dry case for our Italian pastries and doughnuts called bombolone. Although we are a quick grab-and-go concept, there will be plenty of space for people to sit down and hang out.”

LaPuma shared there will be about six high top bar seats and around 25 regular height seats as well.

For the moment, LaPuma and Pirreca are focused on getting this location in the Financial District open. They hope to open additional locations in the city and in Long Island in the future.

Right now Tutto Calcio Espresso Bar is aiming to open in the Financial District in early July.
