The Mets broke out the brooms with a sweep of the Padres on Sunday afternoon, and BT, who has been highly critical of the team so far this year, says the season seems to officially be back on.

“Mets got a season,” BT said. “I don’t know how the hell the Mets have a season, from the first five games and what that looked like, and Senga still hasn’t pitched…but the New York Mets, right now…

“I understand there’s still a long way to go…but this is the first time the Met fan can wake up and say ‘Why can’t we be a playoff team?’”

BT still doesn’t believe in the core of this Mets team to be a consistent winner, but as the likes of Francisco Lindor and J.D. Martinez start to heat up at the plate, why can’t they make a run and beat out teams ahead of them in the Wild Card race that they just proved they are better than in recent weeks?

“They’ve earned my respect,” BT said. “You’ve got the National and Padres tied for the final Wild Card, and the Mets just swept both of them.”
