With the Subway Series upon us, C-Mac took time to look back on some of the most memorable moments between the Yankees and Mets, and of course, the infamous bat throw by Roger Clemens in the 2000 World Series came up in discussion.

Clemens and Mike Piazza already had a history before game two of the Fall Classic, adding fuel to the fire after the top half of Piazza’s bat was hurled in Piazza’s direction from the pitcher’s mound, where Clemens had just fielded the shrapnel. But C-Mac says it was all overblown, and for once, Clemens was actually telling the truth.

“Everyone’s afraid to say it…I believe every single word Roger Clemens said about it,” C-Mac said. “I understand he hasn’t always been forthright about what happened when it comes to some performance enhancing drugs…but if you watch that moment fairly, if you really look at it, it’s exactly what Roger Clemens says.

“If you watch Roger Clemens, the bat breaks, it comes right at him. He goes to field it - and this is the misconception people have - he thought it was the ball for a split second coming at him. He thought he had Mike Piazza out. Then he realizes it’s the bat, and throws it off the field towards the Yankee dugout, because that’s what you do with trash. He does not know that Mike Piazza is running up the baseline. He’s not trying to hit Mike Piazza. That’s exactly what happened.”
