The song of the summer — in Queens, New York, at least — is “OMG,” an until-today Citi Field exclusive track by Latin pop artist Candelita, the music-making alias of New York Mets infielder Jose Iglesias.

The track — along with Grimace — has been credited with fueling the previously lowly Mets’ recent resurgence, as the track has played on the stadium speakers and in the team’s locker room throughout the month of June.

On Friday, Candelita finally and officially released “OMG” for the masses on streaming services, and with its arrival also comes a new video:

Some backstory: The Mets were a mess in May, falling nearly a dozen games below .500 and on the precipice of a roster-gutting trade deadline until the May 31 call-up of then-minor leaguer Iglesias, who brought along “OMG” — a song he penned last year, during a season spent entirely in the minor leagues — to the Mets clubhouse.

The track, about “overcoming hard times and staying positive,” the Athletic reported last week , became an instant hit among his new teammates, who quickly adopted it as their new anthem. “This is the type of energy I need, and anything negative should just be pushed away,” Iglesias said of the track.

While Grimace, Pride Month , and the return of catcher Francisco Alvarez have all been cited as reasons for the Mets’ saved season, the players themselves have credited “OMG” for the comeback. “We’re singing it, we’re humming it all the time,” reliever Adam Ottavino told the Athletic. “This one has definitely hit the most in the clubhouse.”

As of Friday, the Mets are 16-6 since the arrival of Candelita and “OMG.” To celebrate the track’s official release, the team also danced to “OMG” together at a Citi Field event Thursday:
