The crew reported that several passengers were sick on board the flight, according to the FAA.

Delta is launching an internal investigation into the spoiled food. The FDNY treated 12 people who were on the flight, according to fire officials.

“This is not the service Delta is known for and we sincerely apologize to our customers for the inconvenience and delay in their travels,” a Delta spokesperson said.
